What is EMDR?
EMDR is a powerful, evidence-based therapy approach that helps people recover from distressing life experiences, including trauma, anxiety, PTSD, grief, and more. Unlike traditional talk therapy, EMDR does not require you to go into detail about your painful memories. Instead, it uses a structured eight-phase approach that includes bilateral stimulation (such as guided eye movements, tapping, or sounds) to help your brain process and reframe disturbing thoughts and feelings.
EMDR is recognized by organizations such as the World Health Organization, the American Psychological Association, and the Department of Veterans Affairs as an effective treatment for trauma. Many people begin to feel relief after just a few sessions. If you're ready to let go of what's holding you back, EMDR can help you move forward with less fear and more freedom.

How Does EMDR Help?
When we experience something traumatic or overwhelming, our brains sometimes store those memories in a way that keeps us feeling stuck—as if the event is still happening, even years later. EMDR helps "unlock" these memories and allows your brain to reprocess them in a safe and healthy way.
Clients often report that after EMDR sessions, the memories lose their emotional charge. You might still remember what happened, but it no longer feels upsetting or intrusive. In this way, EMDR can help you feel more grounded, in control, and at peace.
